Pumpkin spice lattes have returned so you know it’s time to prep your home for the cooler weather. Here are a few fall cleaning tips we found helpful for this time of year:

Inside Your Home

  1. Wash all windows.
  2. Vacuum dusty canvas, cotton, and treated fabric blinds.
  3. Clean the walls.
  4. Clean ceiling-mounted light fixtures.
  5. Vacuum and spot clean upholstered furniture and cushions.
  6. Wipe down the kitchen cupboards.
  7. Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
  8. Sweep the chimney(s).
  9. Declutter and clean out the attic.

Outside Your Home

  1. Check weather stripping and caulking around doors and windows.
  2. Clean and check the gutters.
  3. Clean the patio furniture.
  4. Drain and store garden hoses.
  5. Check the exterior paint.
  6. Drain the pool, if applicable.
